When the season was over I have some kind a need to upgrade my current Hobie Cat. Options was to order the sail and then build self made spi kit on it or replace the hole cat to bigger one.
In a change scope there was models; HC 15 Club, HC 16 and HC Max. All with the spi kit.
Actually the third sail is genakker but some how the Hobie Cat company press the word "spi" to all brochures? Any how that was the plan.
During the planning/thinking process I also search Hobie Cat videos from the net. Specially from YouTube. Luckily all the models in my scope was available. I look carefully how these models sail again again and the again. I also mail via YouTube service to that guy who did sail with HC Max and request his opinion and experiences about these model.
After all it was easy to say which is my next model.
So, yesterday me and My father decide to upgrade our cats to one bigger one. It was ordered today from Marnela Oy. The new model is Hobie Cat Max Race :-)
This baby has all the features what I most need:
- possible to go alone
- big enough to carry two men
- no keels
- self tacking Jib
- genakker
- modern hulls
Estimated delivery time is on May.
